Amernet Unveils Alabama String Quartets

Today the Amernet String Quartet reveals the final product of a monumental recording project of Alabama String Quartets which began several seasons ago. The two-album collection, released by MSR classics and presented by the Birmingham Art Music Alliance, contains works by fourteen living Alabama composers, all performed by the Amernet. Lysander Piano Trio Announces Fall Release

In honor of its 10th anniversary, the Lysander Piano Trio will release an album of world premiere recordings, “Mirrors,” with First Hand Records this November. Planned for several years, the disc will contain new American trios commissioned or premiered by the TRio and its members, with works by Jennifer Higdon, Sofia Belimove, Jakub Ciupinski, Gilad Cohen, William David Cooper, and Reinaldo Moya.

Jakub Ciupinski's "The Black Mirror" will come out as a digital single one week before the physical release of the recording. More info here.

SPA Trio's Anne-Marie McDermott & Paul Neubauer Perform Live at Bravo! Vail Festival

The celebrated Bravo! Vail Music Festival in Colorado has safely redesigned its summer season to include both live and virtual performances for its festival July 16-August 6. Artistic Director and pianist Anne-Marie McDermott and violist Paul Neubauer, who together make up 2/3 of the SPA Trio, kick off the performance festivities on July 16 with a live opening concert with limited seating at Vail’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. The performance will be live-streamed for free as well. You can find more information here.

On July 23, Paul and his wife (a first violinist with the New York Philharmonic) and children (both Kovner fellows and violin students at the Juilliard School) will perform a quartet together on a program between performances by the Dover Quartet.

David Fung on Detroit Symphony's Centennial Watch Party

On July 9 at 7pm EDT, the Detroit Symphony will air a free video-streamed watch party in celebration of its 100th anniversary season at Orchestra Hall. Amernet Quartet's Tufts Residency

The Amernet String Quartet enjoyed a mini residency with students at Tufts University March 9-10. While the quartet’s open rehearsal and final concert on March 11 was canceled due to the campus closure for the COVID-19 pandemic, it was scheduled to include Benjamin Britten's String Quartet No. 2 (1945), Bernard Rands String Quartet No. 2 (1994), and the Boston Premiere of Tufts faculty member Kareem Roustom's String Quartet No. 1: Shades of Night (2018).
